Hosted Applications

As well as designing your new website, or adapting an existing one, we can also provide managed hosting of a number of web applications. You could run your own blog with Wordpress, run an easily-updated web site with Drupal or Joomla! Content Management Systems, or embrace Web 2.0 for collaborative content using MediaWiki (we may be able to host other software, contact us to discuss options).

Wordpress

One of the most popular blogging platforms on the internet, used to host thousands of blogs, including the Value-Aware Blog. Allows for multiple authors, comments and discussion from readers, advanced categorisation features, static pages and hundred of extra features available through plugins. We can handle the configuration, and help you set up users, categories, and all of the other details.

Joomla! CMS

Used to host this very site, Joomla is a popular content management system able to handle many different types of website. Clients with Value-Aware hosted Joomla! will be able to to update and add content, menus, contact forms, and any items supported by add-ons. Alternatively, we can look after any aspects you would like us to.

Drupal CMS

Drupal is another popular content management system, with a wide range of theming and customisation possibilities. Drupal is particularly suited to sites that will be updated by multiple people, especially where different people need permission to update or alter different aspects of the site. It is also easy to use to create a site which allows users to register, and contribute to the website themselves, or restrict some content to registered users. It can be used to provide forum functionality, allow user blogs, or almost anything you could think of, through the use of add-on modules.

MediaWiki

The software behind the world-famous Wikipedia website, allows you to easily produce user-editable websites. You can require users to register, and restrict editing rights of different pages. Best of all, we can help you set all of these things up, and customise the appearance of your wiki. Note, however, that we cannot take responsibility for moderation of the site.

In all cases, we can manage the installation and configuration of the system, and provide ongoing management and support. In order to assure all customers of stability, we can't ordinarily offer full administrator access to the installed software, but we can provide all the skills you need to keep it administered, managed and running smoothly. You will, of course, have all the access you need to keep the site up-to-date without needing staff with strong IT skills, or paying any external consultant.

In addition, we can customise the appearance of your new site according to your wishes. In the case of Joomla!, we can even convert an existing site, design and content, to use the CMS for ease of future updating and to add features. We will, of course, do our best to ensure that any application is as consistent as you may wish with your existing website.
